The Castle of Brest & Maritime Museum
Journey through 17 centuries of history
In the exceptional setting of the castle of Brest, the National Maritime Museum houses a unique heritage reflecting the great naval adventure Arsenal of Brest and the French Navy.
In recently renovated rooms, visitors can discover the masterpieces of naval decoration, Lapérouse expedition, life convicts or iconic ships of contemporary Navy.
The tour combines indoor and outdoor, to appreciate the richness of the collections, the views of the harbor and the town and the castle architectur: foundations Gallo-Roman fortifications of Vauban through the curtains, and the bastion walkway, is a journey through 17 centuries of history that offers the visitor.
