For the first time in France, the exposition retraces the artistic careers of the two painters, considering their relationship. The american artist Joan Mitchell and the canadian painter Jean-Paul Riopelle, from when they met in 1955 to when they parted in 1979.
Created for the National Arts Museum in Québec and with the help of fundings from Fonds Hélène et Edouard Leclerc
the exposition presents about 60 major pieces of work from these two great names of abstract painting for the second half of the 20th century.
